What is Revaluation?

If students are unhappy with their results, they can apply online to recheck or reevaluate their answer sheets. They also have the option to verify their marks or get a photocopy of their answer sheet. The application window will be open for five days once it starts. Students can apply for mark verification on the official website.

Eligibility for Revaluation

Any student who has taken the exam can apply for revaluation after the results are announced. If you believe you deserve higher marks than what’s on your mark sheet, you can request a re-evaluation.

This option is available for both Class 10 and Class 12 students, whether you have passed, failed, or are on the borderline. In simple words, if you strongly feel your marks are lower than expected, you can apply for a recheck.

cbse revaluation, verification, and photocopy - explained

The CBSE board provides students with three options to review their exam results if they are not satisfied: Verification of Marks, Photocopy of Answer Sheet, and Revaluation. Each process has a different purpose and follows a step-by-step procedure.

Verification of Marks

  • This is the first step if a student doubts their marks.
  • CBSE will check if all answers were evaluated, marks were added correctly, and no question was left unchecked.
  • If there is any error, the marks will be corrected.
  • Students can apply for verification online by paying a small fee.

Photocopy of Answer Sheet

  • After verifying marks, students can request a scanned copy of their answer sheet.
  • This helps them check how their answers were evaluated and whether there were any errors.
  • Only students who applied for verification can request a photocopy.
  • The photocopy will be provided online through the CBSE portal.

 Revaluation (Rechecking of Answers)

  • This is the final step where students can request a detailed review of specific answers.
  • If a student feels that a particular answer was unfairly marked, they can apply for re-evaluation.
  • Only those who have received the photocopy of their answer sheet can apply for re-evaluation.
  • If marks change after re-evaluation, the updated score will be final, whether it increases or decreases.

CBSE Revaluation fees

Students need to pay a fee to apply for revaluation. The amount depends on the examination board and the number of subjects they want to get rechecked. The CBSE board will provide the exact fee details in the official revaluation notification. Here are the CBSE Revaluation Fees for 2025.
